The height setting doesn’t hold. It’s a standard hydraulic height controlled swivel office chair with 5 wheels. I bought five 1-inch hose clamps from the auto parts store. I put all five clamps on the chair so they basically cover up the extended bright silver metal post that the chair sits on, this keeps it from retracting or squatting down. I did this about six months ago and it’s still holding perfectly.

I still need the chair to swivel and move accross the floor within my work space but be immobile enough that it can’t be moved out of my area by either rolling it out or picking it up.
