I have an old baby bed from the ’50′s and want to repurpose it as a chair for a child’s room.

This article suggests using the headboard and foot-board of the crib. I just refer to those as “ends” since typically they are the same.

My mother-in-law has a bench made from the sides of the crib much in the same manner the bench in this article was made. Hers, however, had to have posts added where the sides ended because there weren’t any. Typically the sides of the bed are just rails. Anyway, it is pretty neat. It just allows for a larger bench than you can make using the ends of the crib. For a baby’s room, though, you may prefer using the ends anyway.

Best wishes!
