Of course, you will want a fax machine for your home office. Having a fax machine in addition to e-mail capability is a good idea for all businesses today. Consider purchasing an all-in-one machine that faxes, copies, scans, and prints, as it will save you money and space.
You will also need to have a number of things to furnish your office space. Get a good strong desk that can hold your computer and all of its components nicely, making sure it has plenty of extra storage space. When it comes to an office chair, be sure to choose a supportive, ergonomically correct chair with good back support. You’ll be sitting in your chair for extended periods of time and will want to be comfortable. To keep all of your client’s records in order you will want to get a filing cabinet, as well as a shredder to help prevent identity theft. Remember to get all the little daily necessities like writing utensils, paper clips, and so on. Set them up so that they are easily accessible.
You are going to spend a great deal of time in your home office, so make it a comfortable and organized space. Investing in a good workstation that will support your efforts and foster productivity is well worth it.

I have been thinking lately about buying myself a nice quality computer chair for my desk at work. The chairs they supply us with have no arms and lousy back support, thus making my very uncomfortable. The problem is, the place I work is actually a ton of cubicles lined up. I have seen other people who have bought a nice chair for themselves, but when they have the day off or are out sick, someone takes their chair and uses it. To me this is really rude because these people don’t ask, they just walk right up to the absent person’s desk and roll their chair over to their cubicle. Often times the person comes back to a broken, stained, torn, smelly, or otherwise destroyed chair. If I am going to spend $100-$200 on a chair, I do not want anyone to ruin it. What are some suggestions for making sure that people don’t use my chair without seeming like a selfish jerk?
