I have been thinking lately about buying myself a nice quality computer chair for my desk at work. The chairs they supply us with have no arms and lousy back support, thus making my very uncomfortable. The problem is, the place I work is actually a ton of cubicles lined up. I have seen other people who have bought a nice chair for themselves, but when they have the day off or are out sick, someone takes their chair and uses it. To me this is really rude because these people don’t ask, they just walk right up to the absent person’s desk and roll their chair over to their cubicle. Often times the person comes back to a broken, stained, torn, smelly, or otherwise destroyed chair. If I am going to spend $100-$200 on a chair, I do not want anyone to ruin it. What are some suggestions for making sure that people don’t use my chair without seeming like a selfish jerk?

There is a set of the original Eames Lounge Chair and ottoman at my friend’s home. She asked me if I know the value of it, but I had not clue! I found out the background and the history but nothing about the price. Could you please tell me? Thank you.

I recently painted an old chair in an artsy craftsy style with all of those little dots, squiggles, etc, in brights and pastels. I used my acrylic tube paint for the base which seemed to be a possible mistake due to the amount I needed. The decorative paints I used were mostly from paint pens that are oil based. I did not know whether I needed to use some sort of protective cover after finishing either. Is there a better way to do this?

I’m not furnishing a million dollar office, just my studio at home. I don’t need to spend $200 on a silly chair, I just want something comfortable for my desk.

I retrieve a chair in excelent condition that someone had disgarded.
I’ve used apolstery cleaner, Lysol spray and Frebreaze, yet there is still that “basement” musty smell…
is there anything else I can do short of having it totally reapolstered?? Thanks

Have a club chair that I want to have recovered eventually. In the meantime I would like to be looking for the perfect fabric at a great price. Thanks for your help.

I let my chinchilla loose in my room for some exercise very often. He likes to climb up on my bed and I don’t care if he goes up there, but when he does, he likes to chew on the chair rail and now I have all these chunks missing from it and it looks pretty bad. Is there something I can put on the wood to keep Pepper from doing any more damage to it?
